Introduction
Dal lake is one of the most beautiful lakes of India surrounded by
mountains on its three sides and is dotted by Mughal gardens. The 6.4 km
long and 4km wide lake stands as a beautiful imagination or a romantic
poetry on the surface of clean water shadowed with the groves of chinar. The
lake is composed of several scenic lakes offering distinctive experience and
feel to its visitors. Thousands of boats and Shikaras floating on the

Nishat Garden
On the bank of the Dal lake, Nishat Garden is one of the most magnificent
Mughal gardens. The back drop of Zabarwan hills and views of the lake is
nothing a window to God's paradise on earth. It was built by Asif Khan,
Queen Nur Jahan's brother.
The Hazrathalbal Shrine
The Hazrathalbal Shrine is white marble spiritual center on the left bank
of the famous Dal Lake. The shrine offers aesthetic construction and has the
sacred hair of the Prophet Muhammad which is made public on various
occasion.
The Shankaracharya temple
The Shankaracharya temple also known as the Takht-I-Sulaiman is a sacred
pilgrimage located on one of the two hillocks of Dal lake. Dedicated to
great seer and philosopher, Shankaracharya, the temple offers a panoramic
views of the lake with a spiritual glance.

Without riding on them, your visit to Dal lake is worthless. Thousands of
