nature. Tamil Nadu's capital city Chennai - has a long seafront
including very popular 12 km stretch of Marina beach. Rameshwaram, a major
pilgrimage centre for Hindus, is also famous for its pristine beach. Rare
sea species, coral reefs, calm and serene sea, multitude of marine life
including starfish, sponges, algae, sea cucumber, crabs, sea cows, dolphins
and shallow waters are the unique features of Rameshwaram beach. Some of the

Marina Beach
Widely known as one of the longest beaches in Asia, Marina's 12 km long
stretch attracts a large number of international or domestic tourists. It's
golden sand, good surfing opportunities and a shimmering clear blue sea
water are too captivating to ignore. Obviously, it is a top tourist
attraction among the tourists visiting Tamil Nadu.
Mahabalipuram Beach
Erstwhile port city of Pallavas, Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram is located
on the shores of Bay of Bengal. Although the city homes myriad of exotic
monuments, it is the beach that gives the city its true beauty.
Rameshwaram Beach
A revered Hindu pilgrimage, Rameshwaram is also famous for its serene and
sun kissed beach. The salubrious breeze from the sea is worth enjoying. The
beach with shallow waters makes an ideal site for swimming and sunbathing.
Kanyakumari Beach
Southern most tip of India's main land Kanyakumari - is a unique
beach site as it's surrounded by three seas, Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and
Arabian Sea. This premier beach attraction offers the breathtaking view of
the sunrise and the sunset at their best.
Covelong Beach
Away from the sickening noise of the crowded Chennai city, Covelong's
exotic beach site provides a nice breathing space and offers a number of
water sports activities including fishing.
Pulicat Beach
This saline shallow water spread was formed by the confluence of
Backwaters, Pulicat Lake and Buckingham Canal. Located on the northern end
of Tamil Nadu, Pulicat is an ideal picnic spot. You also can enjoy a
catamaran ride on the shallow water spread or visit the bird sanctuary. A
Dutch cemetery dating back to 17th century is also located on shore.
Dakhinachitra Beach
This new venture shows South Indian heritage. You can take a look at the
completed first phase of Tamilian heritage. The complex houses a rich
collection of various arte facts. It is nit more than 1 km away from
Muttukkadu Backwaters.
Themeparks Beach
Located along East coast road between Chennai and Mamallapuram, Themeparks
Beach has several amusement parks for children and adults. Some of them
including V.G.P., M.G.M. and Littlefolks.
